Responsible Risk-Taking and Student Behaviour | Chris Lore
In this episode, Clare talks to Chris Lore, Head of Learning and Research at Spaghetti Bridge Schools Group, about responsible risk-taking. They discuss what responsible risk-taking means, and how this approach helps develop a sense of autonomy in children and young people.
Chris explains the difference between a ‘culture of control’ and a ‘culture of relationships’, and how the latter can positively influence behaviour and students’ engagement with education.

Chris shares three tips during the episode:
- Getting things wrong can be ‘better than ok’ and present a great opportunity for learning.
- It’s vital to put trusting, responsible relationships at the heart of education, remembering that no two relationships are the same.
- We can foster and maintain high standards through creating cultures of safety and relationships in our schools.
