Live webinar: Understanding Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA/EBSA)
Join us for this live webinar where we will be discussing the topic of Emotionally Based School Non-attendance (EBSNA), also known as Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
Tuesday 4th February, 2025
4:00pm GMT
Our guest, behaviour specialist and Principal Team Teach trainer, Mica Coleman Jones, will be exploring how we can support students who feel unable to attend school or have dropping attendance rates, the importance of understanding their behaviour when they feel unable to attend school, and how to work together with families to build strong and supportive relationships.
You’ll learn about:
- why we need to question the term ‘school refusal’ and think about the language we use around attendance
- how we can work effectively with families
- practical strategies and ideas to support children and young people who feel unable to attend school
- simple changes we can make to our professional practice and school environments.
